While most of the markets are eagerly awaiting the launch of the Royal Enfield 650 Twins, custom builders are presenting variations of the motorcycles in a unique form. The Interceptor INT 650 by UK-based motorcycle builder - Old Empire Motorcycles, for example, features a minimalist design with custom handlebars and a chopped tail section. The Continental GT 650 'Rohini', named after India's satellite program, was equipped with components like full LED headlight and a retro-styled fairing.

In the latest updates, Taiwan based customizers, Rough Crafts have presented a unique iteration of the Continental GT 650. Christened the "Midas Royale", this unique Continental GT 650 has been overhauled with new styling and hardware. Similar to other custom built 650 Twins, the Midas Royale too, has been commissioned by Royal Enfield. The fascia gets twin-pod, vertically stacked LED headlights that have been asymmetrically mounted. Aerodynamics solutions include a relatively tall windscreen and a semi-fairing design.

The fuel tank retains its original shape with recesses to lock in the knees. The extensions on the sides add a unique style quotient to the custom motorcycle. Bodywork like the fuel tank extensions, nose fairing and tail section were created using 3D printing. The final parts were made from fibreglass and carbon fibre. The rider only leather seat gets a ribbed design that further enhances the retro character of the motorcycle. The sub-frame was customised to accommodate the compact saddle and rear cowl design. The black paint with golden highlights adds a subtle yet classy look to the overall package.

The customised visuals are complemented by an updated hardware list. Blacked-out Ohlins FGRT213 upside-down forks, for example, perform the suspension duties at the front. The front forks are held by new triples from CNC Racing. At the rear is an Ohlins sourced TTX GP TR469 monoshock. The stock motorcycle uses conventional forks at the front, and twin-sided gas charged units at the back.

Braking setup has been revamped too, and the Midas Royale uses twin front discs and a single disc at the rear. The anchoring hardware has been sourced from Beringer Brakes who are experts in high-performance braking systems for motorcycles.

Sides reveal the new exhaust setup. The Banai Racing headers are mated to SC Project aftermarket exhaust. Unlike the stock motorcycle, the custom cafe racer uses single sided exhaust placement. The stock wire spoke wheels have been replaced with 17” carbon fibre wheels from BST Racing, which are wrapped in Pirelli Diablo Superbike slick tyres.

Ergonomics have undergone some changes with the revised position of the clip-on handlebar and footpeg positions for a more aggressive riding stance.
