The new Bajaj Pulsar 150 Classic with red graphics and logos was recently caught on video, giving a brief walk around of the new model. The Pulsar 150 in the video is not equipped with ABS although we should see the safety feature arrive as the deadline of April 1, 2019 comes closer.

As seen in the video, the black paint of the Pulsar 150 is complemented by red graphics above the headlight, tank pad, side panels, wheels and pillion grab rail. The Pulsar branding on the fuel tank and the “150” logo on the rear panel also get a red finish. Moreover, the 150 logo is a 3D unit instead of a sticker that was seen previously. Further enhancing the premium and sporty look of the Pulsar 150 Classic is the contrasting stitching on the seat that carries the theme of the motorcycle. Thus, the black saddle gets red stitching.
Apart from the addition of the red paint, there are no visual or mechanical changes to the motorcycle. So, technical specifications continue to feature the same 149.5cc, single cylinder, twin spark engine that delivers 14 PS of maximum power and 13.4 Nm of peak torque. Stopping power comes from a single disc at the front while at the rear is a drum unit.
The Pulsar 150 Classic sits below the Pulsar 150 Twin Disc variant. However, the twin disc variant, despite the premium, outsells the Classic model. Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director of Bajaj Auto, confirmed in an interview that the Pulsar 150 Twin Disc has outrun the relatively cheaper Pulsar 150 Classic in sales. Bajaj said:
In the sports segment, in the last financial year, we were clocking 60,000 vehicles a month. If you see what we have achieved in the first half (current financial year), we are actually clocking 80,000 (units) a month. Only 5,000 of that has come from the lower priced Pulsar. 15,000 (units) has actually come from a Pulsar which is priced INR 3,000 above (the Classic) – we call it the Pulsar 150 Twin Disc.
Bajaj Auto aims to boost the sales of the Classic 150. Kevin D’Sa, president (finance), Bajaj Auto said in an interview that the company will come up with new design and features on the Pulsar Classic which should push total Pulsar volumes to 90,000 in Q4.

Is this the Classic 150 that Kevin D’Sa spoke about? We are yet to hear any official details about the model in the video. But considering that Bajaj Auto has set the target of 90,000 unit per month sales for the Q4 (January to March) of the current financial year, we should hear an announcement soon.
