Last year’s EICMA motorcycle show witnessed the arrival of the Royal Enfield 650 Twins. This year, another twin is reportedly heading to the motorcycle exhibition in Milan although it will be a larger engine in a "V" format. The company has released a new teaser image of the upcoming motorcycle.

A report from Autocar Professional suggests that an 834cc V-twin engine powered Royal Enfield cruiser will be unveiled at the 2018 EICMA motorcycle show. The product will be introduced as a concept while the production spec model will most likely arrive in 2019. The report adds that the new motor has been derived out of Eicher Motors’ former alliance with Polaris Industries. Internationally, Polaris Industries owns iconic cruiser brands – Indian Motorcycle and now-defunct Victory motorcycle.
An unnamed source told the motoring portal:
The company will take the covers off an all-new motorcycle powered by the biggest engine any Royal Enfield had in the past couple of decades. It will be a prototype cruiser powered by a liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder engine with a precise displacement of close to 834cc. The engine is understood to be BSVI-compliant already.
We should hear more details when the motoring event commences on November 6, 2018.
In October 2018, Royal Enfield had teased a new motorcycle through its social media platforms. The teaser saw the vehicle under a semi-transparent cover. It was expected that the bike could be the Bobber variant that will be based on the 650-platform. But the latest information debunks that claim.
Getting back to the new cruiser, the motorcycle is expected to use an all-new 834cc, V-Twin, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine that is said to produce maximum power of 80-90bhp.
Another source close to the developments added:
There was also an agreement between Eicher Motors and Polaris Industries in the past on the front of special cooperation for Royal Enfield motorcycles within their alliance. This special arrangement between the two companies was tightly guarded and was not made public. The powertrain engineers at Polaris and at Royal Enfield had together developed this liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder, engine platform for Royal Enfield during the time their alliance was alive. This project was carried out in the UK between the technical centers of Polaris and Royal Enfield. The 834cc powertrain has spawned out of that arrangement.

Expect the new cruiser to receive a six-speed gearbox with slip and assist function – a feature that is already installed on the Royal Enfield 650 Twins. The new bike will compete against the likes of Harley-Davidson Street 750 and the likes in the middleweight segment.
