Maruti Suzuki should offer the all-new Ertiga with the dual battery mild-hybrid system from the new Ciaz as standard in both petrol and diesel engine models.

The Maruti Ertiga’s production takes place at the Gurgaon plant in Haryana. Production will continue here post the full model change. ~100 units are manufactured a day, which converts to monthly production of ~3,000 units. The output should ramp up gradually, though, as Maruti Suzuki will require a stock of at least ~5,000 units a month.

The 2018 Maruti Ertiga will likely measure 4,395 mm in length, 1,735 mm in width and 1,690 mm in height. That’s an improvement of 99 mm, 40 mm and 5 mm respectively. The wheelbase, however, is the same as before - 2,740 mm. The luggage space with the third-row setback raised has also remained unchanged - 153 litres. These specifications are adapted from the Indonesian market where the new Ertiga is already available.

Maruti Suzuki should offer the all-new Ertiga with the dual battery mild-hybrid system from the new Ciaz as standard in both petrol and diesel engine models. The petrol model will employ the all-new K15B 1.5-litre VVT four-cylinder unit that develops 77 kW (104.7 PS) at 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm. This engine will send power to the wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic transmission.

The diesel engine model will still use the underwhelming 1.3-litre DDiS 200 four-cylinder unit that produces 66 kW (89.7 PS) at 4,000 rpm and 200 Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm. It will have a 5-speed manual transmission as standard. An all-new in-house developed 1.5-litre diesel engine, which Maruti is taking its time with to get everything right, will replace the old engine in late-2019, as per the report. It will send the drive to wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission.
