Youtube-user Tanvir Alam has filmed the 2018 Maruti Ertiga testing in New Delhi. The new model is reportedly scheduled in the second half of November 2018. The second-generation of the company's popular MPV could be positioned as a premium product and vacate to the NEXA outlets.

Already on sale in Indonesia, the MPV is underpinned by the lighter, safer & more modular HEARTECT platform. The new model is 99 mm longer, 40 mm wider, and 5 mm taller than its predecessor. That said, the wheelbase, at 2,740 mm, remains unchanged. The equipment list of the 'Z' variant of the new family van is expected to include keyless entry, engine start/stop button, SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system, projector headlamps, LED rear combination lamps, steering-mounted audio controls, automatic climate control, and rear AC vents.

The 2018 Maruti Ertiga ZXi, VXi & LXi variants will be powered by the K15B 1.5-litre petrol engine that made its Indian debut on the 2018 Maruti Ciaz. It outputs a maximum power of 104 hp and a peak torque of 138 Nm. Transmission options include a five-speed manual and a four-speed automatic. The Indonesian-spec new Ertiga has a claimed fuel efficiency of 18.06 kmpl with a manual transmission and 16.73 kmpl with the automatic unit. The 2018 Maruti Ertiga will gain the latest version of the company's SHVS system, which will result in a better mileage figures.

The D13A 1.3-litre turbocharged diesel engine of the existing version will be carried over to the 2018 Maruti Ertiga ZDi, VDi & LDi variants. It will come mated to a five-speed manual transmission and output a maximum power of 88 hp and a peak torque of 200 Nm. The Fiat-sourced oil-burner will remain in use until the introduction of the ingeniously developed BSVI-compliant 1.5L diesel engine by Suzuki. The new motor should come mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
