The Royal Enfield Classic 500 will receive dual-channel ABS in September 2018.

Moreover, Singh confirmed that the other Royal Enfield 350 cc motorcycles will also receive dual-channel ABS over the course of the next four months. The announcement comes on the sidelines of the launch of the new Royal Enfield Classic 350 Signals Edition, which is priced at INR 1.62 lakh (ex-showroom Pune).

Furthermore, the entire Royal Enfield line-up will be equipped with dual-channel ABS before the April 2019 deadline set by the government of India. According to the new safety norms that come into effect from 1 April, ABS is mandatory in motorcycles above 125 cc engine displacement. Royal Enfield already sells its range of dual-channel ABS-equipped bikes in some of the developed export markets. The introduction of a dual-channel ABS unit will result in a price hike of around INR 25,000 over the standard models.

The Royal Enfield Classic 500 is priced at INR 1.85 lakh, while the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500 costs INR 1.91 lakh for the base model. On the other hand, the Royal Enfield Himalayan comes with a price tag of 1.68 lakh (all the prices are ex-showroom Delhi).
