Maruti Suzuki introduces two new variants on the new Swift. The Maruti Swift ZXi+ AGS is priced at INR 7.76 lakhs and the Maruti Swift ZDi+ AGS at INR 8.76 lakhs, ex-Showroom, New Delhi. These are essentially the range-topping variants of the Swift which now get the convenience of the AGS (automated manual transmission) technology.
The new Swift was launched in February this year with the AGS technology restricted to the VXi/VDi and ZXi/ZDi variants. As a result, buyers missed out on features such as LED projector headlights, LED daytime running lights, precision cut alloy wheels, reverse parking camera, the touchscreen SmartPlay entertainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation and voice command and automatic headlights with the follow-me feature.
The above features are available on the ZXi+ AGS and ZDi+ AGS variants. All variants offer dual airbags, ABS and ISOFIX child seat anchorage points. According to Mr R. S. Kalsi, Senior Executive Director (Marketing & Sales), Maruti Suzuki India, customer feedback prompted the company to introduce the variants.
The Swift petrol is powered by the 1.2-liter K-series VVT petrol engine capable of 82 PS and 113 Nm of torque. It delivers a claimed fuel efficiency of 22 km/l with the 5-speed MT and 5-speed AMT. The 1.3-liter DDiS diesel engine develops 75 PS and 190 Nm of torque and delivers 28.4 km/l with the 5-speed MT and 5-speed AMT.
