PT Suzuki Indomobil Motor showcased the Suzuki Ignis Rally Concept at the GIIAS 2018 in Indonesia. The concept, along with the Ignis Sport concept and Ertiga Sport concept, come under the new 'Suzuki Sport' brand concept for the Indonesian market. As mentioned, the design enhancements on these concepts are evaluated based on public response and find their way into variant derivatives.

The Suzuki Ignis Rally Concept is powered by the 1.2-liter VVT engine likely paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The most obvious change on the Ignis Rally concept is its body colour - a two-tone blue and white shade with the front half getting blue graphics as well. The roof is in a contrast white while the multi-spoke alloy wheels get a matte black finish and seem to wear all-terrain tyres. The front bumper is all new and houses Hella rally-inspired lights. The sides see black plastic wheel arch cladding, rally-inspired blue mudflaps and roof rails.

The Ignis Rally concept is based on the top-end GX variant and is powered by the 1.2-liter four-cylinder K-Series petrol engine that produces 61 kW (83 PS) and 113 Nm of torque. The GL variant of the Ignis in Indonesia is offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox only as customers need to upgrade to the higher GX trim to avail the 5-speed automated manual transmission. For the Indonesian market, Maruti Suzuki is responsible for supplying the Ignis.

Launched in India in January 2017, the Ignis could receive a special/limited edition variant before the introduction of a facelift in 2020. The Indonesia-only Ignis Sport, or any of the other design concepts could give a helping hand to the Maruti Ignis sales which has recovered remarkably this year to average 4,560 units/month. This comes despite the fact that Maruti discontinued the diesel variant owing to low demand (over 90 percent of Ignis buyers preferred the petrol variant reportedly).
