M&M had announced that it will launch the Marazzo on 3 September and now, the company has released a teaser of the MPV showing its upper grille with inserts resembling shark-like teeth.
The Mahindra Marazzo (codename: Mahindra U321) is a product jointly engineered by the Mahindra North American Technical Centre (MNATC) and Mahindra Research Valley (MRV). The teams at Pininfarina (Italy) and Mahindra Design Center (India) have penned it. While the global trend for the MPV is pretending to be SUV-like, Mahindra wanted the Marazzo to look and feel like a proper MPV.
The Mahindra Marazzo’s specifications aren’t officially out yet. It has the largest footprint (wheelbase x front track) of any Mahindra vehicle. Mahindra will offer it in 7-seat and 8-seat versions. The 7-seat version has captain seats in the second row. Under the hood, reports say that the traditionally designed MPV has an all-new 1.5-litre diesel that is expected to produce around 121 hp and 300 Nm of torque. A standard 6-speed manual transmission will send power to the front wheels.
On the outside, the Mahindra Marazzo features projector headlamps, LED DRLs, puddle lamps, 16-inch alloy wheels, LED tail lights and shark-fin antenna. Dual-tone colour scheme, purple-themed instrument cluster with 3D light guides, automatic climate control, touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and industry-first roof AC with Surround Cool Technology are among the interior talking points.

The Mahindra Marazzo’s prices are expected to begin under INR 10 lakh (ex-showroom). Its production at the Nashik plant has commenced. M&M eventually sees the Marazzo sailing from India to all markets where the XUV500 is sold.
