Given the sales volumes and the rapidly changing neighbourhood, the VW Vento is in a desperate need of a redesign, but that’s more than three years away. In the meantime, Volkswagen will give it a minor refresh to bring it back into the spotlight. Steffen Knapp, Director, Volkswagen India, has confirmed to IAB that the company is working on changing the car's appearance.

The rendered 2019 VW Vento features a new front-end borrowed from the sixth-gen VW Polo.

IAB’s automotive artist Shoeb Kalania has worked on a rendering that shows the facelifted VW Vento in its best possible looks. The rendered 2019 VW Vento has a new front-end borrowed from the sixth generation VW Polo. It features a low-profile grille layout, new full-LED headlamps, redesigned bumper with more pronounced contours and reshaped fog lights and cornering lights. On the sides, the updated flaunts new machined alloy wheels.

The 2019 VW Vento could have some interior changes as well, albeit minor ones. Volkswagen may introduce a revised instrument cluster, upgraded infotainment system, and fresh trim and upholstery. The overall design and layout are likely to remain as is.

The current VW Vento is available with three engine options: 1.6L MPI, 1.2L TSI, and 1.5L TDI. These options may continue post facelift. The 1.6L MPI engine is a naturally aspirated petrol that produces 105 PS and 153 Nm of torque. The 1.2L TSI is a turbocharged petrol unit that develops 105 PS and 175 Nm of torque. The 1.5L TDI is a turbocharged diesel unit that delivers 110 PS and 250 Nm of torque. These four-cylinder engines are coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission (1.6L MPI/1.5L TDI) or a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission (1.2L TSI/1.5L TDI).
