2018 Renault KWID with new grille & features launched in India

Renault India has launched the 2018 Renault KWID in India, priced from INR 2.67 lakh for the base model, and going up to INR 4.59 lakh for the top-spec model (all prices are ex-showroom, Delhi).

The 2018 Renault KWID is available in two versions (regular & Climber) with two engine options, eight trims, and two transmissions. The company has launched the new KWID without a price hike. The 2018 KWID comes equipped with rear ELR (Emergency Locking Retractor) as standard across the variants, while the KWID AMT features 'Traffic Assist' which lets the car to crawl forward in stop-go traffic while also prevents it from rolling back on slopes. Design update on the 2018 Renault KWID includes a new razor edge chrome grille for the top-end RXT(O) trim. The mid-level and top-end variants also feature body coloured bumpers, front fog lamps and full wheel covers. As far as safety is concerned, the KWID is equipped with driver side airbag and seatbelts with pre-tensioners with load limiters as standard across the range.

The new Renault KWID gets a reverse camera, which helps in effortless parking. Other feature upgrades include front power window, and remote central locking on the RXL variant, while the RXT(O) variant gets a rear 12V charging socket and chrome detailing on the gear knob. Moreover, the KWID Climber features a rear armrest for additional comfort.

The Renault KWID is available in two engine options across manual and AMT transmissions. The 799 cc, three-cylinder, DOHC engine is capable of a maximum power of 54 bhp at 5,678 rpm while developing a peak torque of 72 Nm at 4,386 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. On the other hand, the 999 cc, three-cylinder, DOHC motor is capable of generating 67 bhp of maximum power at 5,500 rpm along with a peak torque of 91 Nm at 4,250 rpm, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. In addition to the manual transmission, the 1-litre engine also gets an optional 5-speed AMT.

The 2018 Renault KWID is available with a segment-leading four years/1 lakh km warranty and is available in a total of six colour options - Fiery Red, Moonlight Silver, Planet Grey, Ice Cool White, Electric Blue and Outback Bronze. Bookings for the car are underway at authorized Renault dealerships across the country.
