Suzuki Burgman Street (TVS Ntorq 125 rival) India launch confirmed on 19 July

Suzuki Motorcycle India has announced the launch date of the Burgman Street, which will take place on 19 July. The Suzuki Burgman Street made its Indian premiere at the Auto Expo 2018. Suzuki will position the Burgman Street above the Access 125 in India.

Similar to the Suzuki Intruder 150, the Burgman Street is an India-specific offering. Suzuki dealerships across India have already started taking bookings for the Burgman Street at an amount of INR 5,000. The Burgman Street shares its styling cues with the bigger Burgman 650 maxi-scooter. The Suzuki Burgman range is available with engine capacities in a variety of 125-640cc.

The Suzuki Burgman Street features LED headlights, a tall windshield, all-digital instrument cluster, a single-piece extra-long and comfortable seat and LED taillights. The baby maxi-scooter has bulbous proportions with a length of 1,884 mm, 661 mm in width, and a height of 1,163 mm. Features include a 12V charging socket, a multi-function key slot, and generous under-seat storage. The scooter gets 12-inch front and 10-inch rear wheels that runs on 90/90 R12 54J front and 90/100 R10 54J rear tubeless tires.

Powering the Suzuki Burgman Street is the same Access 125 sourced 124.3cc, single cylinder, 4-stroke mill that pumps out 8.4 bhp of power at 6,500 rpm and 10.2 Nm of peak torque at 5,000 rpm. The engine pairs to a CVT transmission. The Burgman Street gets a disc brake up front and a drum brake at the rear. CBS (combined braking system) is standard, which was recently introduced on the Suzuki Access 125 Special Edition in June. The maxi-scooter features telescopic forks up front and a rear mono-shock.

The scooter gets a wheelbase of 1265 mm along with a decent ground clearance of 160 mm. The Burgman Street weighs at 110 kg and gets a fuel tank capacity of 5.6-litres. The Burgman Street will rival against the TVS Ntorq 125, Honda Grazia and Aprilia SR 125. The Suzuki Motorcycle India is likely to price the Burgman Street around INR 65,000 (ex-showroom).
