Team-BHP has acquired a new set of spy shots featuring the Hyundai AH2's (new Santro) interior. The images reveal a few fresh details about Hyundai's latest entrant to the lower B-segment which includes the Maruti Celerio and Tata Tiago. It is expected to arrive at showrooms before October 2018.
The new spy shots reveal an interior that has cues similar to the i10 but more modernised. It appears top-end models will feature an audio system with a small non-touch display that has amber backlighting, instead of the characteristic cool blue lighting seen in lower variants of the Grand i10 and Elite i20. Also visible is a white backlit MID in the instrument cluster with digital readouts for fuel level and more. The instrument binnacle itself is small and round, featuring a simple speedometer, tachometer and the MID.
Like the Hyundai Eon, it appears that the seat headrests of Hyundai AH2 are fixed. Thanks to the tall-boy design inspired by the first generation Santro, there appears to be ample headroom for front and rear occupants. Legroom for rear occupants also seems to be satisfactory judging by the spy shot. According to older reports, the AH2 will offer safety options with dual front airbags, ABS, and rear parking sensors, although it remains to be seen if they'll be standard across the range.

The AH2 will be based on a re-engineered version of Hyundai's HA platform, which used to underpin the Hyundai i10. It will pack an updated version of the 1.1L Epsilon four-cylinder petrol engine from the Santro Xing. A 5-speed manual transmission will be fitted as standard across the range, while a Hyundai-first 5-speed automated manual transmission dubbed 'Smart Auto' is being developed for the AH2 and could be reserved to the highest trim levels.
