At an event in Mumbai today, Mahindra announced that the production name the U321 is the ‘Marazzo’. The company talked about some of the MPV’s interior features at the press conference.
Mahindra says that the Marazzo has the quietest cabin in its class. It's a spacious cabin that cools faster than others. The company has used an industry-first surround cool technology with direct and diffused cooling. In addition to the air vents in the front, there’s a large roof-mounted panel (of air vents) running across the length, like the spine of a shark. The instrument cluster has purple backlighting for a futuristic look
Mahindra will offer the Marazzo in 7- and 8-seat versions, with the former having individual second-row seats. The seats are draped with leatherette. The above teaser hints a dual-tone interior colour scheme, and we have seen that before in a spy video. Other features should include steering-mounted controls, automatic climate control, touchscreen infotainment system with GPS navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The Mahindra Marazzo is said to arrive with a brand-new 1.5-litre diesel engine producing around 121 hp and 300 Nm of torque and coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission. Mahindra may introduce petrol engine and AT options later.
