The QXi, which was previewed by the Hyundai Carlino concept at the 2016 Auto Expo, will introduce the Korean brand's  1.0-liter T-GDi turbo-petrol engine in India. This unit is reported to make 120 PS and 117 Nm of torque, and it will be made available alongside the naturally-aspirated 1.2-liter Kappa petrol four-cylinder VTVT engine, which does duty on the Grand i10 and i20 models. The diesel engine will be the 1.4-liter CRDi U2 four-cylinder unit, which makes 90 PS and 224 Nm of torque in the i20.

Interestingly, the AMT technology is also expected to be offered on the QXi, reports Overdrive, though it is unclear if Hyundai will extend this technology to both petrol and diesel models. Hyundai intends on debuting its AMT technology this year on the Hyundai AH2, for which it will reportedly be branded 'Smart Auto'.

The QXi will be feature-packed with diamond-cut alloy wheels, projector headlights, LED daytime running lights, keyless entry and go, touchscreen entertainment system, reverse parking camera, ABS with EBD and at least dual-front airbags.
