The BMW G 310 GS has begun arriving at dealerships as spy images from Bikers Guide-India Facebook page show. BMW Motorrad India has confirmed that it will launch the BMW G 310 GS and the G 310 R in India on 18 July.
BMW has started accepting bookings for the G 310 GS and G 310 R at a token amount of INR 50,000. The BMW G 310 GS will rival the Royal Enfield Himalayan and the upcoming KTM 390 adventure, while the BMW G 310 R will compete with the KTM 390 Duke. A tubular steel trellis frame with a bolted rear sub-frame underpins the BMW G 310 twins.
Powering the BMW G 310 GS is a 313 cc, single-cylinder motor with liquid cooling and fuel injection. The engine generates a maximum power of 34 bhp at 9,500 rpm while developing a peak torque of 28 Nm at 7,500 rpm. A 6-speed gearbox works in sync with the motor. The ADV gets a steering head angle of 63.3°along with a wheelbase of 1,420mm.
The BMW G 310 GS receives 41 mm upside down forks at the front along with a pre-load adjustable mono-shock at the rear, with suspension travel of 180 mm at both the ends. The BMW G 310 GS runs on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels that wrap with 110-section front and 150-section rear dual-sport tires. The BMW G 310 twins are designed and engineered by BMW Motorrad in Germany, while TVS Motor Company manufactures the motorcycles at its Hosur plant.

The BMW G 310 GS is likely to cost around INR 3.50 lakh, while the G 310 R could get a price tag of INR 3 lakh (both prices are on the road). Key features include an all-digital digital instrument cluster and LED taillights, along with a rear luggage rack. Braking components include a 300 mm front and a 240 mm rear disc brake while switchable dual-channel ABS is standard.
