At the 2018 Auto Expo in February, Tata Motors showcased the Tigor JTP and Tiago JTP. Both are products of the company's JV with Jayem Automotives built under the JT Special Vehicles banner. Our in-house automotive illustrator has created a rendering giving a glimpse of what a Tata Nexon JTP may look like.
The render bestows the stock Nexon with sporty touches in the form of wider air intakes in the front bumper, a front splitter, side skirts, upsized 5-split-spoke gun metal finish alloy wheels and lower profile tires. It is finished in Calgary White with a silver roof finish and red ORVM casings. The fog lamps are placed lower down closer to the bumper lip. The headlamps and grille are identical to the stock Nexon.
If a Tata Nexon JTP ever sees the light of day, then it will have performance upgrades as well. The engine(s) will be re-tuned to produce more power and torque. Currently, both engine options Tata offers the Nexon with developing 110 PS. While the 1.2 L turbo petrol churns out 170 Nm, the 1.5 L turbo diesel makes 260 Nm. A 6-speed manual transmission is the only available option.
