Along with the Tata Tiago JTP, Tata Motors has unveiled the Tata Tigor JTP at Auto Expo 2018. This is the Tata Tigor’s first derivative since its launch in March last year.
The Tata Tigor JTP is differentiated from the standard Tata Tigor with a number of exterior modifications. At the front, it gets a more aggressive bumper, gloss black honeycomb upper grille with gloss black frame and red JTP logo, smoked projector headlamps and gloss black honeycomb lower grille in a new shape and with gloss black frame. In addition, there’s a small hood vent on the right side.
15-inch diamond-cut six-double-spoke alloy wheels, gloss black fender vents in a honeycomb structure with a red JTP badge, red mirror caps and underbody skirts make the Tata Tigor JTP look sportier than the standard model from the sides. At the rear, the JTP variant has a gloss black tailgate garnish, faux rear diffuser and chrome dual tailpipes. Its roof is in black, and there was a shark fin antenna before but the company switched back to the small conventional antenna seen in the images later.
Like the Tata Tiago JTP, the Tata Tigor JTP has an all-black interior with red accents on the air vents. Its seats have contrasting black stitching and JTP branding on the backrests.
The Tata Tigor JTP is powered by the 1.2-litre Revotron turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine that develops 110 PS and 150 Nm of torque. This engine is coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission with revised gear ratios for improved acceleration. A modified suspension setup lowers the Tigor in the JTP variant and this should provide a more spirited driving experience.
