Paultan.org reports that Royal Enfield’s new exclusive distributor in Malaysia, RE Motorcycles has commenced bookings for the Royal Enfield Himalayan in the country.
The media site reports that the dealer has received multiple orders of the bike, and the launch is scheduled to happen next month. The bike will reportedly cost between MYR 38,000 to MYR 40,000. Royal Enfield is yet to reveal the official pricing. The 2018 Royal Enfield Himalayan for the Indian market comes with a BS-IV compliant engine with fuel injection. The 411 cc single cylinder SOHC mill with air and oil cooling makes 24.5 bhp at 6,500 rpm; and 32 Nm at 4,250 rpm. The powerplant pairs with a 5-speed gearbox.

The front end gets 41 mm telescopic fork with 200 mm travel. The rear monoshock with linkage offers 180 mm wheel travel. The seat is 800 mm high, and the bike weighs 191 kg, kerb. The fuel tank can hold 15 litres of juice, ensuring good touring range. The 220 mm ground clearance and the spoke wheels with dual-purpose tyres further enhance the bike’s off-road capabilities. The bike comes with a multifunction analogue-digital combo instrument cluster. In the Malaysian market, the bike would compete with the Kawasaki Versys-X 250 and Honda CRF 250 Rally.
