Putting speculations to rest, the Kawasaki Versys X250 has been launched in Indonesia.
While the Thai Motor Expo was the Asian unveil of the Kawasaki Versys X300, Indonesia saw the market introduction of a quarter litre version of the adventure tourer this month. The Kawasaki Versys X250 is a product for markets which have capacity restraints.
At the heart of the Kawasaki Versys X250 is a 249 cc liquid cooled parallel twin mill borrowed from the Kawasaki Ninja 250. The output figures have not been revealed but expect them to be the same as that of the faired sibling. In the Ninja 250 the engine is capable of producing 32 PS of maximum power at 11,000 rpm and 21 Nm of peak torque at 10,000 rpm. Coupled to the engine is a 6-speed gearbox.
The fuel tank can store 17 litre, and the bike is suspended over 41 mm telescopic forks in the front and a bottom link, uni-trak, gas charged mono shock in the rear. Braking duties are overseen by a 290 mm disc in the front and a 220 mm disc in the rear. The long travel suspension in the front is assisted by a 19-inch tyre with 100/90 profile, whereas the rear gets a 17-inch wheel with 130/80 profile tyre.
