The video claims that the bike hits 60 kmph from standstill in 4.3 seconds, and 100 kmph in 10.1 seconds. At around 01:07 mark, the bike hits a top speed of 151 kmph, with the engine screaming at the 11,000 rpm rev-limit. The Yamaha YZF-R15 v3.0 has a more tightly-packed, R1-inspired aerodynamic bodywork. The new 155 cc SOHC engine with liquid cooling and fuel injection comes with Variable Valve Actuation technology.
In this technology, there are two intake valve cams. One is for lower rpms, and the other is for higher revs. VVA operates from 7,400 rpm onwards. Once the revs reach that limit, VVA increases the opening length of the fuel intake valve for better combustion efficiency. This is done by a solenoid which actuates the rocker arm controlling the valve. The bike produces 19.3 PS of power at 10,000 rpm, and 15 Nm of torque at 8,500 rpm. The engine works in conjunction with a 6-speed gearbox with slip assist clutch.
