The brochure scans of the Royal Enfield Thunderbird X range have been leaked online. The launch of the Royal Enfield 350X and 500X will take place on February 28, 2018.
The leaked brochure reveals the new features that the 350 cc and the 500 cc variants of the Thunderbird X have. The two motorcycles get newly-positioned handlebars, which as per Royal Enfield, is apt for both laid-back and spirited riding. The sculpted seat is a single-piece ‘Gunslinger’ type unit for better comfort in traffic.

The Thunderbird X features an all-black paint-scheme with contrasting colour on the tank. The fuel tank comes in Getaway Orange, Drifter Blue, Whimsical White and Roving Red. Royal Enfield has replaced the cushioned pillion back rest with split grab rails. While the standard Thunderbird gets loop-type grab bars mounted near the rear suspension, they are absent in the X variant. The footpeg position is the same as the normal variant, but the riding stance may be slightly sporty because of the new seat and handlebars.
The motorcycle comes with 9-spoke alloy wheels, a first for a modern Royal Enfield. The wheels are shod with MRF Zapper tubeless tyres. The rims come with colour-coded stickers to match the tank colour.
The powertrain is the same as the normal Thunderbird variant. The 346 cc single cylinder mill makes 19.8 bhp of power at 5,250 rpm and 28 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The Thunderbird 500X gets a 499 cc single cylinder engine that is good for 27.2 bhp at 5,250 rpm and 41.3 Nm at 4,000 rpm. Gearbox for both the bikes is a 5-speed unit.
