Royal Enfield has officially announced the launch date of the Royal Enfield Thunderbird X range. As revealed in a report last week, the Thunderbird 350X and Thunderbird 500X will be launched on February 28, 2018.
For the Royal Enfield Thunderbird X twins, the brand has redesigned the standard Thunderbird with certain urban-centric changes to appeal the youth. The handlebar is slightly flatter for a sportier riding position. The motorcycle features an all-black theme with a brightly coloured fuel tank. The motorcycle features alloy wheels, which is a first for a modern Royal Enfield. The wheels are shod with tubeless tyres, and the pillion grab rail is of split type. The pillion cushioned back-rest is gone, and the seat is a single-piece unit. The rims get stickers which match the colour of the tank.

The 350 cc and the 500 cc variants of the Thunderbird X have the same mechanicals as the standard version. The Thunderbird 350 gets a 346 cc single cylinder mill that makes 19.8 bhp of power at 5,250 rpm and 28 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The Thunderbird 500 employs a bigger 499 cc single cylinder engine that is good for 27.2 bhp at 5,250 rpm and 41.3 Nm at 4,000 rpm. Gearbox for both the bikes is a 5-speed unit.
The cruisers employ telescopic front fork and twin gas-charged shock absorbers at the rear. A 280 mm front and 240 mm rear disc handle the braking duty. The bikes will rival the UM Renegade Sports S.
