The 2018 BMW X3 had its Indian debut at Auto Expo 2018 this month. According to a report from Financial Express, the all-new mid-size SUV’s market launch will take place in April.
The latest developed was revealed to the business publication by Vikram Pawah, President, BMW Group India. “We are looking at launching the new X3 in the third week of April,” Mr. Pawah said. BMW offers the third-gen BMW X3 with a variety of 2.0- and 3.0-litre petrol and diesel engines, all with an 8-speed automatic transmission, either in rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive drivetrain layout. In India, the company is likely to offer the xDrive20d engine model at launch.
The 2018 BMW X3 xDrive20d employs a basic 2.0-litre diesel engine that develops 190 hp at 4,000 rpm and 400 Nm of torque at 1,750-2,500 rpm. As suggested by the ‘xDrive’ word in the engine model’s name, an AWD system is present.
BMW is expected to offer the CLAR platform-based BMW X3 in at least two equipment lines - Luxury Line and M Sport. The Luxury Line equipment line features chrome kidney grille, chrome side window graphic, two-tone underbody protection, 19- or 20-inch alloy wheels, Luxury Line key design, Luxury Line door sill finishers, Dark Oak wood interior trim strips with Pearl Chrome accent strip, leather upholstery and a Sensatec-covered instrument panel with contrast stitching.
The M Sport equipment line comes with M Aerodynamics package, BMW Individual high-gloss Shadow Line window graphic, 19-, 20- or 21-inch alloy wheels, M Sport brakes, M Sport suspension, M interior trim strip, Anthracite-coloured BMW Individual headliner, M Sport seats with black leather upholstery and blue contrast stitching, M Sport leather steering wheel, M door sill finishers and M floor mats.
Other highlights of the 2018 BMW X3 include LED headlights, Active air flap control, LED fog lamps, LED rear lights in 3D look, automatic tailgate, twin exhaust tailpipes, 12.3-inch virtual instrument cluster, three-zone automatic climate control, full-colour head-up display and 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with gesture control.
