Royal Enfield has launched the Royal Enfield Himalayan Sleet in the country at an on-road Chennai price of INR 2,12,666.
Apart from the camouflage paint job, the Royal Enfield Himalayan Sleet comes with the Explorer kit as standard. The kit includes water-resistant aluminium panniers with a capacity of 26 litres each; pannier mounting brackets; off-road style aluminium handlebar with cross brace for added strength, handlebar end weights for additional protection; and an engine guard with black powder coat finish. The motorcycle comes with a 2-year warranty, like other Royal Enfields.

The bike’s production run is limited to only 500 units. Beginning from today till January 30th, enthusiasts can go online and register themselves, thereby expressing interest to purchase. Users need to register on royalenfield.com/himalayansleet. Post registration, users will be given a unique code which would be required to participate in the sale. The sale will go live on January 30th 2018, on a first-come-first-serve basis. On the day of the sale, users need to login to the website and proceed to make a payment of INR 5,000 to book the Himalayan Sleet.
Apart from the accessories, the bike is the same as the existing Himalayan. Powering the bike is a single cylinder 411 cc SOHC mill. With fuel injection, the engine generates 24.5 bhp of power at 6,500 rpm, and 32 Nm of torque at 4,250 rpm. A 5-speed transmission does duty in the motorcycle. The engine nestles inside a half-duplex split cradle frame. For suspension, the motorcycle employs 41 mm telescopic front fork, and a rear monoshock with linkage. A 300 mm front and a 240 mm rear disc handle the braking responsibility. Compared to the normal variant, the Sleet is approximately INR 28,000 more expensive.
