The Datsun GO and Datsun GO+ aren’t available with a CVT, but the Datsun Cross was expected to get it. Datsun has now confirmed that it will offer a continuously variable transmission in the Datsun Cross.
The Datsun Cross is a crossover-themed variant of the Datsun GO+. Its rugged styling is drawn from the Datsun GO Cross Concept that was introduced at Auto Expo 2016. Spy shots and teaser images suggest that it features a honeycomb front grille with silver surround, silver skid plates, aggressive headlamps, high-mount front fog lamps, silver roof rails, black body cladding, silver inserts in the front bumper and ORVMs with integrated turn signals.
The Datsun Cross’ interior will have a different interior compared to the Datsun GO and Datsun GO+. Spy media has revealed fitment a new dashboard design, rectangular central air vents and a touchscreen infotainment system.

Under the hood, the Datsun Cross will reportedly have the HR12DE 1.2-litre petrol engine. In the Datsun GO and Datsun GO+, this three-cylinder mill develops 68 PS at 5,000 rpm and 104 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. Basic configurations may have a 5-speed manual transmission instead of a continuously variable transmission.
