New spy shots of the 2018 Marut Ertiga have been by IAB reader Munish Ghanghas. The new generation Ertiga is expected to go on sale by August 2018 according to a media report from October last year.
The next-gen Maruti Ertiga, which goes by the codename Maruti YHA, features a redesigned rear bumper new, wraparound tail lamps, and an upright rear hatch. Previous spy pictures have revealed LED lighting at the back. The second generation Maruti Ertiga will have a longer rear overhang that should translate to an increment in occupant and luggage space.
The lightweight Heartect platform will form the basis of the 2018 Maruti Ertiga. The new platform should offer improved collision safety and help reduce kerb weight improving fuel efficiency. A new 1.5-litre diesel engine developed in-house could replace the current 1.3 L Fiat-sourced unit. The 1.4 L Petrol engine may be carried over unchanged.

According to a report from October 2017, the new Ertiga could be sold through the Nexa sales channel. There are also reports of the MPV spawning a crossover variant as well. The move seems logical as all Maruti products currently on sale in that price bracket or above are retailed through Nexa.
