The 2018 Suzuki Swift Sport had its world debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show last week. In the latest, the 2018 Suzuki Swift Sport was recently spotted next to the 2017 Suzuki Swift in Japan, courtesy bestcarweb.
The 2018 Suzuki Swift Sport is 3,890 mm long, 1,735 mm wide and 1,500 mm tall. Compared to the 2017 Suzuki Swift, it is 50 mm longer and 40 mm wider. Under the hood, it has a more potent version of the K14C 1.4-litre BOOSTERJET turbocharged petrol engine. This unit develops 140 PS at 5,500 rpm and 230 Nm of torque from 2,500-3,500 rpm. It sends power to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission. Thanks to the HEARTECT platform, the third generation model is 70 kg lighter. The fuel economy is rated at 16.4 km/l (MT)/16.2 km/l (AT).
The 2018 Suzuki Sport features an exclusive exterior styling with a large-opening honeycomb grille with a unique “staggered” design, front-lip spoiler, side skirts, 17-inch alloy wheels, rear diffuser and tapered shape dual exhaust tips. The front grille, front-lip spoiler, side skirts and rear diffuser have carbon fibre-style embossing too. There are seven colour choices, including an ‘Championship Yellow’ paint. The exclusive shade of yellow originates from the Suzuki Works Rally Car.
The performance theme is carried over inside with red accents, instrument panel’s main gauges with contrasting colours and new boost and oil temperature gauges, semi-bucket shape front seats, chrome finished shift knob and sports alloy pedals. The D-shaped, leather-wrapped steering wheel has a satin finish, piano black accents and red cross-stitching.
