The 2018 Suzuki Ertiga (2018 Maruti Ertiga) was introduced in Indonesia last month without a diesel engine and a stylish Dreza variant. According to a report from Kompas, both these options will follow one after the other later.
The latest development was confirmed to the Indonesian publication directly by Suzuki Indomobil Sales' Head of Marketing Donny Saputra. "Dreza and Ertiga diesel are two different models, both of which we will sell, we will launch in different times," Saputra said (translated).
The old Suzuki Ertiga diesel is powered by a Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre engine. The all-new Suzuki Ertiga diesel will likely use an all-new 1.5-litre engine developed by Suzuki. It still remains unknown whether Suzuki plans to offer the SHVS mild-hybrid system in the all-new Suzuki Ertiga diesel or not.
The all-new Suzuki Ertiga Dreza may have a fancier exterior with differently designed bumpers, a larger front grille, dual-tone alloy wheels in a unique design, side skirts and a bigger rear spoiler. Inside, it could feature a trim and upholstery different from those in the standard variant. Under the hood, it may have the same K15B 1.5L VVT petrol engine (104.7 PS/138 Nm) as the standard variant.
