The 2018 Maruti Ertiga, which goes on sale on 21 November, has started reaching dealership stockyards. Here are its first images showing its exterior and interior details.
The image suggest that the top-spec trim of the second-gen model will feature leather seat upholstery, leather-wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel, faux wood inserts, SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, passive keyless entry with push-button start/stop, roof-mounted rear AC vents, dual-barrel projector headlamps with LED DRLs and rear washer with wiper.
The recently spotted model wears the new Pearl Metallic Auburn Red paint. Other colour options for the new model include - Metallic Magma Grey, Pearl Metallic Oxford Blue, Pearl Arctic White and Metallic Silky Silver.
The 2018 Maruti Ertiga is based on the Heartect platform, which is the same lightweight and robust architecture that underpins the Baleno, Swift, Dzire and Ignis. The petrol version of the new model will be sold with the new K15B 1.5-litre VVT petrol engine that made its local debut in the 2018 Maruti Ciaz (facelift). The new motor outputs a maximum power of 104.7 PS and a peak torque of 138 Nm. Transmission options available with the petrol engine will include a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic.
The diesel variant of the 2018 Ertiga will be powered by the carried over D13A 1.3-litre DDIS200 turbo-diesel motor that comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission and outputs 90 PS and 200 Nm of torque. Both the powertrains feature the SHVS mild-hybrid system. At a later stage, Maruti Suzuki will replace the current oil-burner with the all-new E15A 1.5-litre diesel unit, which will send drive to the wheels via a six-speed manual transmission.
Pre-bookings of the 2018 Maruti Ertiga opened earlier today, for a token amount of INR 11,000. The all-new model, which will be sold through the Arena dealership network, will be available in L, V, Z and Z+ trims. Prices are likely to start at ~INR 7 lakh (ex-showroom). The current generation of the popular MPV will be available in the commercial vehicle market as a 'Tour' model.
