As Mahindra continues testing the 2018 Mahindra XUV500 on the public roads, another batch of spy shots has surfaced online. The facelifted Mahindra XUV500 was recently spied in Chennai, courtesy digit.
The Mahindra XUV500 will receive some visual changes to the front. The test mule seen in the new spy shots has its front fascia entirely covered, but a previous spy shot has revealed a new radiator grille. At the rear, the tail lamps look no different from those fitted in the current model. Still, Mahindra is hiding the rest of the rear fascia, hinting at changes to the tailgate.
Mahindra introduced a petrol engine option in the Mahindra XUV500 last month. With the mid-cycle refresh, it will roll out a new version of the SUV’s 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine. The 2018 Mahindra XUV500’s new 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine will produce 170 hp and around 400 Nm of torque. Transmission choices will remain the same: 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic. It’s safe to assume that Mahindra will not offer an AWD system as standard so as to keep the entry price low.
