The 2018 Ford Aspire is expected to go on sale sometime next month. MotorOctane has posted new spy shots of the facelifted model, showing its exterior and even interior weeks before the official release.
The Ford Aspire will gain minor exterior changes with its mid-cycle refresh. At the front, the spy shots show the facelifted model’s revised hexagonal grille having honeycomb mesh inserts and the headlamps having new graphics similar to those of the Ford Freestyle. On the sides, there are new, V-spoke alloy wheels. At the rear, the tail lamp graphics look slightly different from those of the current model.
The Ford Aspire will retain the beige-black two-tone interior colour scheme post facelift. Its centre console will undergo substantial changes for a less cluttered design. As seen in the spy shot (below), the mid-cycle refresh will bring the SYNC 3 infotainment system with a 6.5-inch floating display to the sedan. The new touchscreen infotainment system will support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration technologies.
The Ford Aspire is available with 1.2L Ti-VCT four-cylinder petrol, 1.5L Ti-VCT four-cylinder petrol and 1.5L TDCi four-cylinder diesel engines. With the facelift, the four-cylinder petrol engines will get discontinued in favour of three-cylinder petrol engines in the same capacity.
The new 1.2L Ti-VCT three-cylinder petrol engine will likely produce 96 PS and 120 Nm of torque. The 1.5L Ti-VCT three-cylinder petrol engine develops 123 PS and 150 Nm of torque in the Ford EcoSport, but it may have lower tunings in the Ford Aspire.
Along with the new 1.2L engine, the sub-4 metre sedan will likely gain the all-new 5-speed manual transmission manual transmission from the Ford Freestyle. The 6-speed PowerShift dual-clutch transmission may get replaced by the conventional 6-speed automatic transmission from the Ford EcoSport.
