The 2018 Bajaj Avenger Street 220 has been spied ahead of its launch. The motorcycle features subtle styling updates to make it look more modern.
The 2018 Bajaj Avenger Street 220 sports updated graphics. The red stripe is reminiscent of the one found in the Bajaj V15. The headlight nacelle bears a brushed metal finish. There is also a small flyscreen that covers the circular all-digital instrument cluster. The panel on the fuel tank is digital as well. The side box features a slightly different design. The seat and the rear grab rail seem to be the same as the existing bike. The grab rail gets a small wrap behind the pillion seat, though. The tail light is now sleeker and is LED. The indicators are bulb-type, and the rear fender is slightly longer.
The current Avenger 220 makes 19.03 PS at 8,400 rpm, and 17.5 Nm at 7,000 rpm from its 220 cc air and oil-cooled mill. Expect the 2018 variant to continue with the same engine. The powerplant works in tandem with a five-speed gearbox. Cycle parts include the same telescopic front fork with gaiters and twin shock absorbers at the rear. Brakes include disc at the front and drum at the rear. The bike could come with a single-channel ABS as an option.
The 2018 Bajaj Avenger Street 220 reportedly costs INR INR 93,000, ex-showroom, Mumbai. The on-road, Mumbai price is INR 1,09,000. The only competitor of the cruiser in the segment is the Suzuki Intruder 150. Bajaj will be launching its 'All-new' Discover bikes along with the unveil of the 2018 range tomorrow. It is possible that the brand will launch this motorcycle tomorrow along with the new Discover range.
