The 2018 Audi A6 Avant, which is the eighth generation of the estate version of the A6, was showcased at the Thai Motor Expo last month. Available exclusively in the S-Line grade, the A6 Avant 55 TFSI costs THB 4,99,9000 (INR 1.08 crore). It is sold by Meister Technik, the authorised importer of Audi in Thailand.

In Thailand, the 2018 Audi A6 Avant is available exclusively in the TFSI55 grade and features a 3.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that works in conjunction with a 48V mild hybrid system.

The 2018 Audi A6 Avant is 4.94-metre long, 1.89-metre wide, and 1.47-metre tall. The new model offers more knee room as well as front and rear elbow room than its predecessors. The boot space, at 565-litres (expandable up to 1,680-litres), stays the same. The split back seat can be folded down in 40:20:40 ratio to optimise the luggage space as per the user-specific conditions.

The interior of the Audi A6 Avant features 10.1-inch and 8.6-inch HD touch displays for the MMI infotainment system. The two screens are supplemented by a 12.3-inch Audi virtual cockpit. The advanced digital instrument console offers up to seven preferred settings through individual user profiles. Like a smartphone, vehicle function shortcuts can be dragged and dropped to the desired positions on the MMI screen.

Powering the 2018 Audi A6 Avant is a 3.0-litre TFSI turbo-petrol engine that outputs a maximum power of 340 hp along with a peak torque of 500 Nm. The motor, which is shared with the Thai-spec A7 and A8, comes mated to a seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission and benefits from a 48V mild hybrid system.

At 565 litres (expandable to 1,680 litres), the boot space of the 2018 Audi A6 Avant is the same as that of its predecessor.

In Thailand, the 2018 Audi A6 Avant locks horns with the BMW 530i Touring that features a 252hp 2.0-litre turbo-petrol motor and costs THB 4.499 million in M Sport trim, and the Volvo V90 D4 Inscription that sports a 190hp 2.0-litre turbo-diesel motor and costs THB 4.09 million.
