TVS Motor Company has bought a 14.78% stake in a Bengaluru-based electric start-up company called Ultraviolette Automotive, reports Autocar Professional.
Ultraviolette Automotive was founded in 2014, and, as per the company’s statement, its vision is to create sustainable urban transportation through accelerated innovation. At present, the brand employs 13 people, with Narayan Subramaniam and Niraj Rajmohan as the founders. In June this year, the company tested its third prototype,. The brand has created an electric bike concept, called the Ultraviolette VF-1.

In terms of appearance, the bike looks like a futuristic cafe racer. Going by the illustration, the motorcycle has a sporty riding position with lowered clip-ons. The wheels are shod with Bridgestone Battlax tyres, and feature petal discs on both ends. Powering the motorcycle is a lithium-ion battery pack.
In June, a TVS Jupiter-based electric scooter was spotted testing, and the company will reportedly launch the scooter in June 2018. Apart from electric vehicles, TVS is also planning to launch the Apache RTR 160, which was spied recently. The website reports that a hybrid two-wheeler is also in the works. It recently launched its flagship faired motorcycle, the Apache RR 310 to cater to the premium segment.
