TVS Motor Company has launched its highly awaited performance motorcycle, the TVS Apache RR 310 in the country at an ex-showroom price of INR 2.05 lakhs. The price varies from state to state. Bookings of the bike will open shortly, and the motorcycle will be available by the end of the month.
The TVS Apache RR 310 is a culmination of the brand’s 35-year experience in the racing industry. The bike marks the company’s foray into the super premium category. The Apache RR 310 is available in two colours: Racing Red and Sinister Black.
Powering the Apache RR 310 is a 312.2 cc single cylinder engine with liquid cooling and fuel injection paired with a 6-speed transmission. The mill is capable of generating 34 PS of power at 9,700 rpm, and 27.3 Nm of torque at 7,700 rpm. The power plant sits inside a trellis frame, which holds the upside down cartridge front fork, and a rear monotube floating piston gas-assisted shock absorber. TVS claims a top speed of 160 km/h and a 0-60 kmph acceleration time of 2.93 seconds.
Brakes include 300 mm petal-type front disc with radial calliper, and a rear 240 mm petal disc. The bike features ABS with RLP. The RR 310 gets a Bi-LED headlamp setup and an LED taillight. Its fuel tank has a capacity of 11 litres. The motorcycle tips the scales at 169.5 kg, kerb (11 kg heavier than the G 310 R, which this motorcycle is based on). The 17-inch alloys are shod with 110-section front and 150-section rear Michelin tyres.
TVS expects to sell 10,000 units of the motorcycle in the first year of its launch and will introduce the bike in the export market in phases. Key rivals in this segment, based on engine capacity, include KTM RC 390, Kawasaki Ninja 300, and the Benelli 302R.
