Royal Enfield exports grow by 60% in November year on year

Royal Enfield has clocked 2,350 unit sales in November 2017, recording a 60% increase year on year. The company had sold 1,470 units in the same month, last year.

In the domestic market, the brand sold 67,776 units in November this year, against 55,843 units in the same period the previous year. This resulted in a growth of 21%. Coming to the Year To Date numbers (YTD ‘17-18), the Chennai-based company grew by 30% in international sales, selling 12,387 units. The domestic, and total sales growth stands at 22%, with a YTD (’17-18) tally of 5,14,094 units and 5,26,481 units respectively. The bike maker’s total November sales is 70,126 units, with a growth of 22%.

Royal Enfield showcased its two all-new products, the Interceptor INT 650 and the Continental GT 650 at the 2017 EIMA Show in Milan, Italy. The brand will be launching the Himalayan and the 650 Twins in North America in 2018. The India launch of the bikes will reportedly be in the summer of 2018.

The bikes employ an all-new 648 cc parallel twin engine with air and oil cooling. It pairs with an new 6-speed transmission. The bikes will have the same spec in India as it is in the international markets. Royal Enfield has developed the powerplant from the UK Technology Centre; with inputs from the engineering and design teams based out of its manufacturing facilities in Chennai.
