Early next year, Mahindra will roll out an updated XUV500. The 2018 Mahindra XUV500 has been spotted testing on numerous occasions and based on these spy shots, IAB'a automotive illustrator has created another rendering of the upcoming XUV500 facelift.
The render imagines the updated tail section of the Mahindra XUV500 facelift. The tailgate, specifically the number plate area has been redesigned. The chrome applique housing the Mahindra insignia and the curved line just above it have been swapped for a cleaner look. The rear bumper has also been updated slightly. The rendered image also adds updated taillight clusters with LED detailing.
Spy shots of the 2018 Mahindra XUV500 have revealed an updated nose section sporting a new grille. However, based on the sightings so far, Mahindra has not made major changes to the exterior of the SUV. It has, however, been spotted with a new set of 10-spoke alloy wheels.
In terms of specifications, the XUV500 will get an updated version of the current 2.2 L mHawk diesel engine. Power will go up to 170 hp and torque is expected to increase to around 400 Nm. 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic, and AWD will continue to be offered.
Mahindra will launch the XUV500 facelift before the end of the current fiscal year reports indicate. It could even make its debut at the Auto Expo in February 2018.
