Modenas to launch Bajaj Dominar 400 & Bajaj Boxer X 150 in 2018 in Malaysia

Bajaj Auto in collaboration with the Modenas, a Malaysian two-wheeler company will be launching the Bajaj Dominar 400 and the Bajaj Boxer X 150 in the Malaysian market in the first quarter of 2018, reports paultan.org.

The bike will be launched in the first quarter of 2018 in Malaysia.

Modenas and Bajaj will target the budget commuter segment with the two upcoming offerings. The two brands had launched the Pulsar NS200 and RS200 in the country in May this year. The V15 also serves the Malaysian market since May. The Bajaj Dominar 400 borrows its engine from the KTM 390 Duke.

In the Indian market, the 373.3cc single cylinder liquid-cooled engine makes 35 PS at 8,000 rpm. Maximum torque output stands at 35 Nm at 6,500 rpm. A six-speed transmission with slipper clutch mates with the engine. The bike gets telescopic front forks and a gas-charged rear monoshock. Brakes include 320 mm front and 230 mm rear disc with dual channel ABS.

The Bajaj Boxer X 150 is ideal for customers looking for a utilitarian workhorse.

The utilitarian Bajaj Boxer X 150 is ideal for rough roads, thanks to its raised front mud guard, and knobby Mud-grip tires. The bike gets telescopic front forks with gaiters to protect it from dust. The rear features a pair of SNS suspension. The bike also gets a wide and long single piece seat and electric start.

Power comes from a 144.8cc single cylinder engine. It generates 12 PS at 7,500 rpm and 12.3 Nm at 5,500 rpm. The engine mates with a 4-speed transmission. The motorcycle employs 130 mm drum brakes on both ends for braking. The bike also features a rear rack for added practicality. The Boxer is India's most exported two-wheeler.
