TVS Jupiter clocks 2 million sales in four years

The TVS Jupiter has crossed the 2 million unit sales mark within four years of its launch.

The TVS Jupiter was launched in the country in September 2013, with the tagline ‘Zyada ka Fayda’. In early 2016, the Jupiter was the fastest scooter to reach the mark of 1 million sales, doing so 2.5 years. In June 2016, the MillionR Special Edition was launched. Last month, TVS launched the Jupiter Classic edition, offering premium features.

Commenting on the Jupiter’s sales achievement, Aniruddha Haldar, Vice President (Marketing) Commuter Motorcycles, Scooters and Corporate Brand, TVS Motor Company said:

The TVS Jupiter is available in the base variant as well as ZX and ZX with disc brake. Powering the scooter is an all-aluminium 109.7cc single cylinder engine with a CVT gearbox. The engine puts out 8 PS of power at 7,500 rpm and 8 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. The scooter comes with TVS patented Econometer, which guides riders in both 'Eco Mode' and 'Power Mode'; for optimal balance between performance and fuel efficiency.

For suspension, it employs 30 mm telescopic front fork and a gas-charged rear monoshock. The scooter comes to a halt using 130 mm drum brakes on both ends. 220 mm front disc is an option. Sync Braking System (SBS) is standard for all variants. The scooter is available in colour selections of Royal Wine, Matte Blue, Stallion Brown, Titanium Grey, Midnight Black, Volcano Red, Pristine White, Jade Green and Mystic Gold. Prices start from INR 50,051, ex-showroom Delhi.
