The Royal Enfield Himalayan is now BS4 compliant.

The Royal Enfield Himalayan FI looks essentially the same as the version with the carburettor but for the minor colour changes like the black handlebar-end weights and black pannier mounts. The handlebar clamp and the fork clamps are black as well. The bike features AHO as standard.

The most noteworthy change lies in its powertrain. This motorcycle gains fuel injection, but the engine is the same 411 cc single cylinder SOHC unit with oil-cooler. The powerplant gives out 24.5 bhp of power at 6,500 rpm and 32 Nm of torque at 4,250 rpm. A 5-speed transmission pairs with the engine. Fuel injection helps in cleaner emissions, better cold starts and crisper throttle response. Thrustzone reports that the gearbox and engine are now smoother, with reduced vibrations under 5,000 rpm.

For suspension, the bike employs 41 mm telescopic forks to hold the front 21-inch spoke wheels. The 17-inch rear wheel uses a monoshock with linkage. The front suspension offers 200 mm of travel while the rear offers 180 mm. The Ceat Gripp-XL tyres wrap the wheels and are in the specifications of 90/90 at the front and 120/90 at the rear. Brakes include a 300 mm front and a 240 mm rear disc. ABS is still absent.
