Royal Enfield Himalayan launched at INR 1.55 lakhs [Gallery Update]

The Royal Enfield Himalayan has been launched at INR 1,55,545 (ex-showroom, Maharashtra). The on-road Mumbai price is INR 1,78,872. In price, the Himalayan competes with the Mahindra Mojo and the Benelli TNT 25.
The RE Himalayan measures 2,190 mm in length, 840 mm in width, 1,360 mm in height, 1,465 mm in wheelbase, 220 mm in ground clearance, 800 mm in saddle height, 182 kg in kerb weight and 15 litres in fuel tank capacity.
The motorcycle is powered by an all-new 411 cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine with SOHC and an oil-cooler, mated to a five-speed gearbox. The motor develops 24.5 PS at 6,500 rpm and 32 Nm at 4,000-4,500 rpm. The engine is fuelled by a carburettor that is equipped with a throttle position sensor.
The hardware on the RE Himalayan includes a circular headlamp, a tall windscreen, a mudguard and a mud flap, a standard handlebar that has a crossbar, half-duplex split cradle frame, a 41 mm long-travel telescopic fork with rubber boots and 200 mm travel, monoshock with linkage and 180 mm travel, 300 mm front disc brake with a twin-piston caliper, a 240 mm rear disc brake with a single-piston caliper, 90/90-21 tubeless multipurpose tyre at the front, 120/90-17 tubeless multipurpose tyre at the rear and spoke wheels.
The Himalayan comes with an instrument cluster that features analog instruments such as speedometer, tachometer and fuel gauge, and a digital display for trip readings, odo reading, time, direction using a magnetometer and ambient temperature.
