Renault dealerships have started accepting bookings for the Captur following its formal unveiling on 21 September. The launch of the Renault Captur will take place in October around Diwali (18 October). The exact date is yet to be revealed, however.

Renault Captur launch in October
The Renault Captur will become the company's third SUV in India joining the Duster and the now-defunct Koleos.

The Renault Captur shares its engines and platform with the Duster. However, it is a more premium offering and has a longer list of features on offer. At the media drive over the weekend, Renault revealed that the Captur would be offered with a plethora of customization options to meet individual tastes of its customers. The Renault Captur will also introduce a new top-end trim called Platine for the first time in India.

Some of the notable features on offer include LED headlamps, floating turn indicators, LED DRLs, Ripple-effect LED tail lamp signature, four airbags, 7-inch touchscreen, auto aircon, keyless entry and push-button start. While the exact variant-wise break of the features has not been revealed, the company says even the entry-level models will be fairly loaded.

Engine options available include a 1.5 K K9K diesel mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and a 1.5 L H4K petrol mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. There will be no automatic variant at the time of launch. Also, Renault is not offering the Captur with an AWD.

Once launched, India will become the first market to get the RHD version of the Captur. The M0 platform Captur is bigger than the one sold in Europe. LHD versions are already on sale in countries like Brazil, Colombia and Russia.

Renault Captur price likely to be around INR 11-14 lakhs
The Renault Captur range will be priced under INR 15 lakhs. There will be petrol and diesel variants on offer, but no automatic or AWD.
