New versions of the Bajaj Platina and Bajaj V will be launched this month, confirms Rajiv Bajaj in an interview with LiveMint.
In the interview, Bajaj spoke about the brand’s market performance in the current financial year, in which its market share has gone down from 20 percent to 16 percent. However, the brand’s business is recovering in the recent months.
Bajaj said:
Our sales have started improving from August onwards and September will be better subject to everything remaining fine. Over and above this, there’s a role to be played by the new products. Last month, we launched the new CT. This month, we will launch the new versions of the Platina and the V.
Bajaj also stated that by the end of the second half of this year, the company will have a healthy overall business including exports and three-wheelers, apart from domestic two-wheelers. While the details of the upcoming versions of the two bikes are unknown, expect Bajaj to launch refreshed versions, possibly in the form of new colour schemes.

Last month Bajaj had launched the ES spoke variant of the commuter motorcycle, the Bajaj Platina. It features a 102 cc engine which gives out 8.2 bhp of power at 7,500 rpm and 8.6 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm. A 4-speed gearbox takes on the transmission duty.
The Bajaj V15, launched in February 2016 shares the same metal as the legendary aircraft carrier, the INS Vikrant. This patriotic connect is the bike’s USP. It employs a 149.5cc engine that is good for 12 PS at 7,500 rpm and 12.7 Nm at 5,500 rpm. A smaller, 125cc version called the V12 was launched in January this year.
