Carbon Racing Inc, a Bengaluru based custom house has come up with prototype aircraft-grade aluminium panniers for the Bajaj Dominar 400.
The company is testing these panniers, and the final product is yet to come. Prices will be announced after the final version is ready. They have used 2.5 mm aircraft grade aluminium and 3 mm additional plating on the mounting side. The company claims the panniers are 1 mm thicker than Hepco Becker’s Xplorer Series; and 0.5 mm thicker than Givi’s Outback Series. Injection moulded ABS plastic cover the corners and protect them from damage. The corners feature robotic welding as well.

The company has finished the surface in brushed metallic texture, and anodized. They have added a glossy lacquer top coat to protect the anodized layer. The locks and latches are of stainless steel that’s tumbled and plated for texture. The panniers come with a quick lock and release system with a single key. It also features a laser-engraved company logo. The custom house is adding handles, bungee ties and additional ABS cladding at the bottom for more protection. The panniers’ volume stands at 28 litres on one side.
This particular Bajaj Dominar 400 also comes with custom pillion backrest which costs INR 1,799. The frame sliders are priced at INR 3,199. The flyscreen is from Bajaj Pulsar AS 200 with custom fitting. Model-specific mounting kits will be available for Royal Enfield Himalayan, KTM Duke series, Triumph Tiger series, Kawasaki Versys twins and BMW GS series as well.
