Yamaha reinvigorated the quarter litre segment with the launch of the Yamaha FZ25 in January. And this month, the brand launched the touring iteration of the bike, the Yamaha Fazer 25.
The bikes share the same parts, apart from the radically designed fairing. So, what exactly is the difference between the two? Let’s find out!

The only observable changes are that the Yamaha Fazer 25 gets an aerodynamic fairing, which reduces rider fatigue by preventing wind blasts at high speeds. The bike gets a twin horn setup as opposed to a single horn in the FZ25.
Both the bikes share the 249cc single cylinder SOHC 2-valve engine with fuel injection. It generates 20.9 PS of power at 8,000 rpm and 20 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm in the two bikes. The engine works in tandem with a 5-speed transmission.

The Fazer 25 gets twin LED pilot lamps whereas the Yamaha FZ25 gets a single pilot lamp, on top of the headlight. For suspension, they employ telescopic fork at the front Monocross at the rear. The two motorcycles use the same 282 mm front and 220 mm rear disc for braking. There is no ABS in either of the bikes.
For the extra INR 10,000, you get a fairing, twin LED pilot lamps, twin horn in the Fazer 25. When it comes to weight difference, the FZ25 has a kerb weight of 148kg. The Fazer 25 is 6 kg heavier than FZ25, thanks to the fairing.
