The Royal Enfield Himalayan has been showcased at the 2017 NADA Auto show in Nepal by the authorized distributor Dugar Brother's and Sons. The bike was launched in the mountain country in September 2016.

The Himalayan draws power from a 411 cc single-cylinder SOHC engine with an oil cooler. The engine punches out 24.5 bhp of power at 6,500 rpm and 32 Nm of torque between 4,000 - 4,500 rpm. The engine mates with a 5-speed gearbox. A carburettor feeds fuel to the engine. On the other hand, bike in the Indian market will soon be retailed in the BS4 spec; and will come with fuel injection technology.

The Royal Enfield Himalayan employs a half-duplex split cradle frame. 41mm telescopic forks at the front and a rear monoshock with linkage take care of the suspension duty. The front fork offers 200 mm of travel, while the rear has 180 mm of travel. A 90-section front and a 120-section rear tyre wrap the 21-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheels respectively.

The bike weighs 182 kg (kerb) and the fuel tank can hold 15 litres of juice.

The bike comes to a halt using 300 mm disc at the front with 2-piston floating calliper and 240 mm disc at the rear with single piston floating calliper. ABS is absent.

The bike is available in two colours- Snow White and Granite Black.
