From tasteful to downright ugly, we come across hundreds of mod jobs each month. In case you have not been able to figure out yet, the images here are that of a first generation Maruti Swift Dzire modified to look like the unholy child of a sports car and an SUV.
The official website lists this as "Sports Car", although judging by the boot lid mounted spare wheel, they were going for the SUV-coupe profile. The front end features headlamps borrowed from a Tata Safari Storme. The grille too is similar in design to the SUV. The entire nose section has been extended to accommodate the Safari Storme's face.
The roofline has been reprofiled too, presumably because the designer was going for a BMW X6 like shape. The boot lid houses a spare wheel and the rear also features what is intended to be a dual pipe exhaust tip. The car is finished in a combination of orange, black and white. It gets thick wheel arches and 5-spoke black alloy wheels.
Interior changes, if any, are not visible in the images. The designer might have opted for aftermarket seat covers and an audio unit.
In all probability, the custom Maruti Dzire carries the same engine as the standard car- either a 1.2 L K12 petrol or 1.3 L DDiS diesel. They churn out 84.3 PS and 75 PS respectively. Both engine options came with a 5-speed manual transmission.
