The sedan version of the Fiat Argo has been spotted testing in Argentina in its production spec body. Autoblog Argentina took these spy shots in the city of Cordoba. Based on the Argo hatchback unveiled in May, the sedan, codenamed Fiat X6S, will replace the Fiat Grand Siena and Fiat Linea in South America.
Although test mules were in full body camouflage, the images reveal the profile of the Fiat X6S with bits like the black multi spoke alloy wheels, and ORVM mounted turn indicators. These pictures also outline the car's DLO. It will have more space in the rear for passengers and, quite obviously, increased luggage capacity as well. Expect the dashboard to be identical to the Argo with changes to the upholstering and trim.
Much like the Argo hatchback, the sedan will also get the four-cylinder 1.3 L FireFly and 1.8 L eTorq Evo engines. On the Argo, the 1.3 engine develops 101 CV (101 hp) and 13.7 kgm (134.35 Nm) of torque and comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The bigger 1.8 motor delivers 135 CV (135 hp) and 18.8 kgm (184.37 Nm) of torque running on petrol and 139 CV (139 hp) and 19.3 kgm (189.27 Nm) of torque running on ethanol. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed Aisin automatic gearbox.
In Argentina, the Fiat Argo goes on sale this spring. The sedan version of the Argo, whose name is yet to be revealed, will be showcased by the end of 2017 and arrive in showrooms in 2018.
