Spy photos of a dual-tone red and black VW Polo on the streets of Pune have emerged online, courtesy of Team-BHP member AutoSpy.
The combination looks similar to the limited edition VW Polo GT Sport launched in April 25, although unique to this example is the black plastic cladding across the side sill and rear bumpers, as well as what appears to be a beefed-up suspension. It's unclear if Volkswagen is testing new engine updates, or continues with the current lineup till a decision is made on the arrival of the mk6 VW Polo. A Polo with the 1.0 3cyl TSI petrol engine was spotted on test earlier this year, but with no clear signs of a launch.
The Polo comes with a 1.2-liter MPi petrol and 1.5-liter TDI diesel engines paired to a 5-speed manual transmission, with the former outputting 75 PS and 110 Nm of torque and the latter with 90 PS and 230 Nm of torque. The top-end GT TSI has a 1.2 turbocharged motor and 7DSG gearbox capable of 105 PS and 175 Nm of peak torque, while the GT TDI has a 1.5 TDI and 5-speed manual producing 110 PS and 250 Nm of peak torque.

Given that the mk6 Polo will not be arriving in India anytime soon, VW India will regularly update the current version with new variants, features and editions to keep it relevant in the highly competitive segment. One such variant that could enter India is the VW Polo 180 TSI exported to Indonesia.
